Amazon Black Friday TV Deals & More

Black Friday is here, and if you are like me you are in the market for a new TV. This isn’t like it was in what my kids call the dinosaur ages when I was growing up. I remember my first TV as an adult, it was a completely different TV than you will find today!

I bought a 27″ RCA stereo TV and thought is was this absolute coolest thing I had ever seen! I actually lugged that big TV around for nearly 20 years, letting my son use it until it finally gave out a few years ago.

Toshiba 32″ Smart Tv for only $119.99! Save over $60!

Or get the 55″ version of this Toshiba Smart Tv for only $299! Save over $150!

It is a different day and age now. You go into any electronic store and head over to the televisions. and you will see all kinds of different sizes, brands, and types of TV’s. Gone are the days of the bulky TVs that took two people to carry anything bigger than a 19″. There are TVs now that are not much thicker than a credit card! That being said, let’s look into what to look for this Black Friday when searching for your new smart TV on Amazon.

TCL 55″ Smart TV for only $279.99! Normally $599! Savings of $320!

LED, 4K, LCD, 1080p, what does all of this mean?

Just in case you are curious, LCD stands for liquid crystal display, which have been the main display type of television sold for over a decade. LED is just a type of LCD TV, which stands for light-emitting diodes. Unless you bought your TV when I bought my amazing RCA, you have an LED TV.

If you haven’t bought a TV in a few years, you are probably watching programs on a 1080p television. Although there is a bunch of scientific jargon that would explain what that is, all you really care about is what does this mean for you right? Basically, with a 1080p TV you are seeing approximately 2 million pixels. By now, I am sure you have seen the 4K TVs being sold anywhere that sells them. For comparison’s sake, on a 4K TV there are 8 million pixels!

Just because TV companies like to be fancy, you may have seen some TVs advertised as Ultra HD. While this isn’t exactly false advertising, it is the just another way of describing a 4K television.

If you are a Samsung fan like I am, check out this 50″ for only $347, over $150 off the normal price! They also have 55″, 58″, 65″ and 75″ available for great savings too!

How Big of a TV do I need?

This really depends on where you are putting your TV. If you are looking for a bedroom TV, 32″ should be plenty, where as a living room TV you may want a 55″. Obviously budget fits in here too, if you only have $300 to spend, that 65″ beauty will probably have to wait until next time.

Remember that these sizes are measured diagonally, not side to side. The best thing to do in my opinion is to head up to the electronic store and see what size looks the best for you.

Get this 24″ Insignia TV for less than $100! Normally $150!

Do I want a Smart TV?

Most TVs now days are smart TVs, which just means that they are basically ready to be connected to the internet without any other device (Roku, PlayStation, etc.) It makes things much more simple if you like to stream Netflix or Hulu on your TV. You will want to make sure that you see which type of smart TV you are looking at.

There are a lot of smart TVs that come with Roku already programmed, and I personally have used a LG smart tv and really like the user interface of it, as it was very easy to switch back and forth between apps. Other companies are coming out with their own version of smart TV programming, such as Samsung and Amazon, so there isn’t a drop off among the higher end TV companies these days.

Where you need to worry is if there is no specific operating system for the smart TV. You will still be able to use it to stream your shows, but there are no guarantees that you will not come across playability problems in the future.

If you find a TV that you love and it isn’t a smart TV, don’t worry. Pick up a Roku or Amazon firestick and connect that to your TV and you will be able to use all of the functions of a smart TV.

You can get this Hisense 50″ Smart Tv for only $249.99, over $80 off!

Which Brand should I be looking for?

A lot of this comes down to budget. If you have a few more dollars to spend, obviously you will want a Sony or a Samsung television. LG is another company that has become one of the top TV producers in recent years. Of course, if you still want that big TV but don’t quite have the budget, there are plenty of lower end television companies that put out high quality products, that just do not have the name recognition as those other brands. Vizio is one brand that I have had and enjoyed in the past.

Other Factors

There are almost unlimited variables that you can look for when looking for a new TV. One of the most important is the amount of HDMI ports, you will want at least 4. If you have a blu ray player and a video game system attached to your TV that is 2 ports used already.

The refresh rate is also something to look at, 60 hz is fairly standard but 120 is the lowest you will want if you want to have the TV for awhile. The new fad is a curved TV, which is supposed to immerse you into the television more, but honestly I do not think it is worth the extra cost.

You may see an 8K TV while you are shopping, but it is a little early to get one of those. Although you are now talking about 16 million pixels, there is not any content made for an 8K TV, and streaming in 4K is already too much for most people’s internet connection, so obviously not ready for more bandwidth.

Or if you are looking for a larger television, you can get this mammoth 65″ LG NanoCell TV for only $696.99! Normally this TV sales for $1199! You save over $500!

Black Friday is a great day to find that brand new TV you have been thinking about getting, but make sure you do your due diligence and find the TV that you want and will give you and your family many years of entertainment in the future!

    • Amazon has a great return program, with at least a 30-day money back guarantee and longer guarantees depending on the brand. You can also purchase additional protection either for 1 or 2 additional years.

Each question I had, you completely answered them in an easy and informative way.  After reviewing your site, I now understood the areas I was most confused about. I am now ready for Black Friday and know I will be purchasing the correct one.

  3. Hi,

Thanks for this information about brand and smart TV. I want to buy a new TV for our family when we enjoy our best moment. I have not bought a TV last few years. We are enjoying programs on our old television. But now we face a great problem. This TV screen is not clear. So, I want to Buy a big TV for my bed room. It should be 32″. My budget is $200 for 32″ TV.

    • You can definitely find a 32″ TV for less than $200 for black Friday, some are closer to $100! Check out these deals from Amazon and I believe you will find what you are looking for!

  4. I remember when BIG flat-screened tube TVs were all the rage. It may have taken two strong men to get it into your house, but having one of these monster TVs was proof that everyone was coming to your home for movie night. But the TVs nowadays, as you have stated, can be as thin as a credit card. TV technology has come a long way.

The knowledge I have gained from the education offered at Wealthy Affiliate has provided me a few different options for making thousands of dollars per month. I had the pleasure of using the money I had earned through my affiliate efforts and purchased a three to four day weekend stay at a casino hotel in Las Vegas in  January 2018.

During every January in Las Vegas the famous CES convention takes place. CES stands for Consume Electronics Show and this is where anything and everything technology-based that consumers use is on display. Of course TVs are always a big attention getter at the show. I had seen an LG OLED 65-inch TV that you could roll up like a poster.

There was a time that I would shell out more money to buy a Sony TV over that of an RCA, but I eventually found out that the cheaper brands actually lasted longer. I personally never considered LG as a brand I would purchase, but what I have seen lately, they are creating some high-quality lower-priced products. I am taking more notice in them.

They are a brand that is definitely growing. About 10 miles from where I live here in Northern New Jersey, LG is building their HUGE North American headquarters. An absolutely massive glass office building powered by a roof made up of massive solar panels. LG is obviously moving up in the consumer electronics market as a brand to look into.

I highly recommend those looking to purchase quality flat screen TVs to take advantage of the Amazon Black Friday TV Deals. I know I will take advantage of the many deals Amazon will have to offer and a new TV will be on the list of things many of us will want to purchase. Thank you for this information you have shared. Sorry for my long comment.

    • Thank you for taking the time to comment, I would love to make it to Vegas some day! I agree, I ended up with a JVC this year, for the price and size I felt is was the best option. Good luck on wealthy affiliate!

I was expecting to see you list some TV sets for this Black Friday deal but you broke my heart initially; I kept reading and I found out that this post is more valuable than just listing TV sets and price for Black Friday but you actually gave so much value. • That is what I was going for, there are so many different TVs out there these days, so knowing what you are looking for is important. I hope you are able to find what you need, please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

  6. Hopefully, I will be living on my own very soon so I needed to own a TV of my own. I remember those days where TVs are bulky,  bulky and intimidating with their. Not anymore today because these days and TVs sets are very tiny and some can be tiny like a credit card just as you have said.

Thank you the tips to get all smart tv operations using Roku or Amazon firestick.

  7. Thanks for summarizing such an amazing black friday deals for TV’s.

Because Christmas holidays are here i want to make myself a gift. I like very much the Toshiba 32″ Smart Tv. They increase a lot in this smart tv industries and i think Toshiba will fight in the future with Samsung and LG. For just 119$ i think this is a perfect deal for me and the dimensions 32 inch is just enough for my room.

Thanks a lot and keep in touch. I hope you will put here some smartphones too.

    • That would be a perfect size for the bedroom, and a great price as well! Thank you for checking them out, I will look into smartphones deals on Amazon.

  8. This amazon black Friday cannot come at a much better time for me than this. Thank you so much for sharing all these here. Firstly, I would like to thank you for bringing all these TV deals here. I just changed my apartment and I’m looking to bringing in a new TV. I am a big time Samsung lover and the deal offered on that Samsung is more than enough considering the variance in size. That’s a big thumbs up for me

    • I am a big Samsung fan as I mentioned in the article. You will love it! If you need anything else please do not hesitate to let me know!

  9. Its really interesting to have this kind of deals for televisions, the rate at which everything is moving up in price is very alarming, so seasons like this is a very good time to purchase things, it’s nice that you posted about Black Friday. 10. Hi, thank you very much for bring great offers on some amazing products on the occasion of Black Friday. I have a little question about “Toshiba 32″ Smart Tv for only $119.99!”. Can I use this TV as a desktop’s monitor? Finally, I hope you will write more useful review in future.

  11. This is very good information about options on a new TV this black Friday. I’m still rocking a very nice 1080p 60′ Samsung plasma as I just don’t like LCD panels. I grew up like you watching on a Sharp 37′ CRT with deep inky blacks and excellent colors along a contrast ratio that blinded you. I have yet to see an LCD provide this. I don’t really care too much about resolution. You only really need 4K if you’re going to buy a TV bigger than a 60′ in my opinion. It’s better just to buy a nice 1080p OLED panel that can compete with CRTs in the color department yet still be as thin as a credit card and as big as your wall. In the end however, my plasma still looks great compared to LCDs. Until OLEDs become more affordable, my Samsung plasma will live to see another year.

    • I definitely understand, If you find a TV that works for you, keep it til it doesn’t work anymore! But when you do be sure to check out the options on Amazon, even after Black Friday they typically have good deals on TVs.

  12. Great post here. These deals here are massive and strictly good for anyone hoping to buy a TV. At least, we can leverage on the opportunity to buy at a lesser price by using the black Friday offers. The Samsung TV is too costly for me right now and out of budget. Hence, I would go for the lesser ones within the 300$ budget. Thanks for listing here to give options.

    • I ended up going with a JVC for myself, but any of these TVs would be a nice addition to a living room or bedroom. Glad you could find something that you like, let me know if you have any questions!

  13. Amazon Black Friday TV Deals for me is a good idea. Though I don’t have the pressing need for Television presently, i think getting one of these for my dad will be a good thing to do because I could remember he complained about having Issues regarding his TV set. I prefer the Toshiba 32 and I’ll get one for him. Its really thoughtful of you to share.

    • I think that is a great idea, he will love it! And these days TVs last for a long time so he should be set for awhile after you get that for him. Good luck!

  14. That’s why I love Black Friday. I wait all the year to get the stuff I want and it’s totally worth it. I think I’ll go for the Hisense smart TV. It’s definitely worth its price and I’ve wanted to get a smart TV since summer. Well, my patience officially paid off!
